The Story Behind Molina Art – Handmade Jewelry with Heart & Heritage

We are a father and daughter brought together by our love for handmade art. What began as a small hobby has grown into a family passion rooted in storytelling, tradition, and intention.

Our journey started years ago in Colombia, when my father discovered his gift for creating artisan crafts at just 18. Ever since school, he felt a calling to shape beautiful things with his hands. He worked many jobs where he never truly felt himself, but life has a way of nudging us toward our purpose.

One day, while wandering through the city center, he ran into an old friend selling handmade bracelets. Inspired by the idea but with no money to invest, he pawned his stereo system — and that became his very first investment. He started selling small pieces that no one else wanted, but with his creativity, he brought them to life and turned them into unique designs people loved.

From the streets to artisan fairs, he slowly built a name for himself. He even started his first business creating crafts from totumo, a Colombian fruit used to make bowls, jewelry, and more. His talent opened doors, and he began to teach others — single mothers, young people looking for direction — offering them the opportunity he never had.

Later, he trained in wire-wrapped bronze jewelry, where he was awarded for his craftsmanship and opened his own workshop to continue teaching and sharing what he learned.

Now, life has brought us to a new chapter — a new country, a new beginning.

As his daughter, I grew up surrounded by his limitless creativity. He planted in me the same love for painting, drawing, and creating — and now, I carry that spark with me.
